Determined. Resilient. Positive.

Born into a family of field workers, Crystal learned the value of hard work, community, and generosity early on in life. It was these lessons that helped her survive the rigors of college, in which she earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Corrections. By undertaking a job as a correctional officer in Juvenile Hall, she learned that the system was failing our children. Rather than stand by and participate in this injustice, she applied for graduate school at CSU Stanislaus to earn a master’s degree in social work with the passion to change the world. At Fathers and Families of San Joaquin, Crystal utilizes her knowledge and applies her passion daily. She stands with our youth to ensure that they are supported, loved, and empowered to leave systems of oppression and to see a brighter future for themselves and their peers.
