The Stockton Trauma Recovery Center advocates for policies that increase access to mental health services and provide support for victims and survivors of violence, especially communities most marginalized by systemic oppression.  For example, the STRC has been deeply involved in developing and building support for AB 1639 (Healing For All Act) over the last several years, in collaboration with other co-sponsors such as Youth Justice Coalition, Healing Dialogue and Action, PolicyLink, and the Alliance for Boys & Men of Color. This bill seeks to expand access to resources provided by the California Victims Compensation Board to crime survivors who often face stigma, misperception, lack of information and denied claims.
